| When publishing your Website you
have the option of using FrontPage or FTP. Please review the
instructions of the particular software you are using for
assistance in using the product you have selected.
Important:
Our Servers are setup to present several "default"
pages. The valid default page names are listed below in order.
You may use any of these names as your default page name. The
selection is particularly important for your root directory. The
Servers will look through this list in the order shown. The
Servers will present the first page found in this list as the
default page. Here is the list of default page names:
- Index.htm
- Index.html
- Index.asp
- Default.htm
- Default.html
- Default.asp
- Home.htm
- Home.html
- Home.asp
- Main.htm
- Main.html
- Main.asp
- QuantumHost.htm
Again, these default pages will
be presented in the order listed. If you wish your default page
to be Home.html (number 8 on the list) and you have a file named
Index.htm (number 1 on the list) the page named Index.htm will
be presented as your default page. You may have pages with any
of these name in your root or other directories. However, keep
in mind that the first page listed will be presented as the
default page.
You MUST use one of these page
names in your root directory if you wish a page to be displayed
when your site is accessed. For example, if some one visits your
site with no page specified (such as http://YOURSITE.com) our
servers will attempt to present one of the above listed names.
If you do not have a page with one of the above name, no page
will be displayed. Therefore, it is very important to use one of
the above page names, particularly in the root of your site. |
